Each letter has its own exact table points on every scale. B is 3.75 on 5.0 and 3.00 on 4.0; A− is 4.63 and 3.70, respectively.
GPA credits are the credits attached to courses included in your calculation. A 4-credit course contributes twice as much as a 2-credit course.
Multiply each letter’s points by its course credits on each scale separately. Divide each scale’s total quality points by the same total credits.
This reference estimate uses the same letter grade on both scales. Schools may use different letter mappings or course bonuses; check institutional rules for an official conversion.
Your current GPA scale is fixed at 5.0. Choose a target of 4.0, 4.3, 5.0 or 10.0. The table supplies each letter’s points on both scales.

Read each letter’s points directly from the reference table. B is 3.75 on the 5.0 source scale and 3.00 on the 4.0 target scale. A− is 4.63 on the source scale and 3.70 on the target scale.
For B with 3 credits and A− with 4 credits, current quality points total 29.77 and target quality points total 23.80. Each scale uses its own exact letter points, including the listed two-decimal points on the 5.0 scale.
Divide each quality-point total by 7 credits: current GPA is 4.25 on 5.0, and converted GPA is 3.40 on 4.0. Calculate from unrounded totals and round only the displayed values.
Each column contains the exact reference-table points for the same letter grade on that scale. Read the source and target columns directly. A+ and A share the maximum on 4.0, 5.0 and 10.0; only A+ receives 4.30 on 4.3. The 5.0 column’s displayed two-decimal points are exact calculation inputs.
